Update on Philippine Relief

Pastor Bosi thanks eveyone who donated Sunday night.  He picked those things up and they will be sent out later tonight.  Right now, the priority he said for donations would be clothing and money.  Non-perishable foods is good, but their staple food is rice.  So any money given would go towards purchasing rice which is being offered pretty cheaply right now.  According to Pastor Bosi, the government is officially out of money and had to ask the UN for help.  This means domestic recovery efforts are slow moving.  Anything you contribute is being sent directly to churches and will get into the hands of needy people quickly.

Will we still be able to donate Sunday? Or would it be better to drop stuff by Friday/Saturday before they meet for church? ~Thanks

Yes, keep donating whenever you can! The company that he is shipping with is giving him the flat rate of $30 per box (about 1/3 – 1/4 the normal price) until the end of the month. They will not be meeting this Saturday because of the BSCM Multi-cultural Church Conference. If you bring something Sunday, it might help encourage others! Blessings.
