Mission Trip Celebration – May 5
Sunday evening, May 5, we will be hearing testimonies of our
mission team’s ministry in the Philippines. This will be
preceded by a pot-luck dinner. Everything begins at 6:00pm.
No community groups will meet that evening.
Mother’s Day
As we celebrate Mother’s Day here at Crossway, it is the heart
of the elders and our men that we do so in a way that lets our
moms know how much we care for and appreciate them. As
we thought about our traditional Mother’s Day breakfast,
we’re not sure that our choice as men (making you food at 8:30
in the morning) speaks to mom’s in the way we intend. So,
this year, we aren’t going to have a breakfast that morning
but, instead will recognize mom’s during the service. However,
being men, we want to find a tangible way to celebrate and
serve you on Mother’s Day! So, we need your help! Please
take some time and think about how we can best serve and
celebrate you next year and either drop one of the elders an
email, let us know in person, or drop a note on a
communication card in the offering plate.
Skidmore Golf Outing Fundraiser—May 11
The Skidmores would like to invite you to a fundraiser golf
outing on May 11th at Valley View Golf Course in Saginaw.
Micah has been named to an NCAA Division II golf all-star
team and will be traveling to Scotland this summer to compete
against European all-stars. The golf outing fundraiser will help
Micah raise the funds necessary for the trip. The outing cost is
$100 per person, and includes a round of golf with a cart, hot
dogs at the turn, and a buffet dinner and prizes after the
round. Even if you aren’t a golfer, this is a fun way to help
Micah and spend the day outdoors with good friends. The
outing is next weekend, so see Teri TODAY if you plan to attend.
Pray for our Mission Team
Pray for our mission team this week as they head to the Philippines to work with our church planter there.

Sermon Series
This morning, we begin a short series on the nature of spiritual
warfare. Here, we will consider things like: Is the devil real?
Why does the New Testament use warfare language when
Christianity is a religion of love? How do I deal with sin? and
more. This series is unique because the same passages and
messages our mission team will be presenting in the
Philippines will make up this series for us here.
Mission Team Commissioning – Today
After our special-called business meeting today, Crossway will
pray for our team going to the Philippines. Included in the
bulletin will be a special prayer guide. We encourage all
members to pray daily for the team while they are away.
Mission Trip: Philippines 2013 (April 14-29)
UPDATED. Continue to pray for our Mission Team (Doug
Brubaker, Jason Skidmore, and Pastor John Botkin) as they
prepare for their discipling trip to the Philippines. We’ve
included a prayer guide in today’s bulletin that can be used
while they are in country. Pray for also for their final
preparations.
