Francis Brown Offering For State Missions

The month of September is the time when Southern Baptist Churches all over the state of Michigan collect a special offering for state missions. This offering is named in memory of Francis Brown, who was the first WMU director to suggest and help organize a state-wide missions offering. This Francis Brown offering goes specifically to gospel work here in the state of Michigan. This offering supports ministries like… Faith Fellowship Baptist Church (a new church start near Michigan State University); a Brazilian/Portuguese-speaking ministry in Ypsilanti; an extension program of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary to provided training to Michigan pastors; summer missions students; and disaster relief, both local and national as with the relief being provided to victims of Hurricanes and other natural disasters. A special prayer emphasis will continue through the month as we collect the missions offering. A guide for this emphasis is included in this bulletin.

The statewide goal for this year’s offering is $98,000. BBC’s goal to help be a part of these ministries is $300. Prayerfully consider how you can joyfully and sacrificially give to support mission efforts here in Michigan. Envelopes for this offering are provided in the offering plate. Other envelopes can be used by designating them “Francis Brown.”
