Missionary Moments – April 14
For many years, MARK ELLIS worked in evangelism and church planting on the back side of the Amazon rain forest in Brazil. While there, he realized the need for national Christian leaders to have theological training, yet many were poorly educated and couldn’t study at the seminary level. However, they were enthusiastic and wanted to start churches among their people. Mark and Brazilian leaders started preparing seminary courses taught on the sixth-grade level and putting them on DVD. God blessed the project, and interest spread across Brazil. He and his wife, DIANE, moved to the city where a partnering Brazilian church is supporting the project. Your love for people and support of missions through CP are preparing leaders and reaching people throughout Brazil. Today, pray for Mark and Diane as they train Brazilian leaders to accurately share the Word of God, so new churches can spread throughout the country. STATEMENT: 2 Corinthians 8:9—Christ gave Himself for us. Many people have given their creativity, even their lives, that we might enjoy national and religious freedom. Giving through our church helps share the Gospel, which can free people from sin.
