2017 Bible Reading Plan
This year we will be reading through the Scriptures together as a church using the M’Cheyne Calendar for Daily Bible Reading. If you are unfamiliar with the reading plan, it was developed by Robert Murray M’Cheyne, a pastor in Scotland during the 1800’s. M’Cheyne was adamant that the Christian needs a constant intake of God’s Word to continue to renew our minds as we grow in Christ. Using this plan, the reader will cover roughly four chapters daily, getting through the OT once and the NT and Psalms twice in one year. He split the devotional calendar into “Family” and “Secret” (or “Private”) readings.
To accompany our reading schedule this year, we are using D.A. Carson’s helpful devotional “For the Love of God, Volume One”. This book is a daily guide to help us think through what we are reading in the assigned Scriptures. Volume One focuses on the “Family” half of the reading calendar.

As we begin the new year, prayerfully renew your commitment to reading God’s word with us. As a church, we need to hear from the Lord and continue to let the Word reform us. Take up and read!
“How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” (Ps 119:9-11)
