Together for the Gospel
Recently, Pastors Doug and their wives were able to attend Together for the Gospel, a conference for pastors that focused on the Church’s necessary distinctiveness from the culture. Videos of the main speakers’ messages can be found, along with other videos, at T4G.com. Below are the messages that we found specifically helpful, convicting, and enriching.
Along with these, we should provide links to many of the resources that have proven helpful to us that were highlighted at this conference. Two primarily stick out. The first is 9Marks. 9Marks is an organization that “exists to equip church leaders with a biblical vision and practical resources for building healthy churches.” While aiming at the pastors of a congregation, 9Marks is quite beneficial to anyone who would like to know more about how a church should work, biblically.
The second resource to provide is Ligonier Ministries. “Ligonier Ministries exists to proclaim, teach, and defend the holiness of God in all its fullness to as many people as possible.” I do need to make a brief note that Ligonier Ministries is a para-church ministry run by Presbyterians, and as such our differences in understanding baptism and church polity are important and cannot simply be overlooked. However, the emphasis placed on solid biblical teaching, pursuit of holiness, and the supremacy of God make Ligonier Ministries an excellent and practical resource for Christians.
