Missionary Moments – May 8
“ROBERT and HELEN ASHBURN” and their two children call a rural part of Southeast Asia home. In 2009, Robert befriended an area family, helped them farm their fields, and often sat and talked with them over a meal, sharing his faith in Jesus. Unfortunately, they were reluctant to believe because they feared persecution. One day Robert received news that the older sister suffered a stroke at age 48. She began praying to the One True God. Over the next eight months, the older sister made an amazing recovery that she attributed to Jesus. She persevered through the persecution, and on Easter 2010, she and her younger sister were baptized. This people group is hearing the Gospel in their own language for the first time and is being discipled, thanks in part to your continued gifts through the CP. Thank God for these decisions and pray for this people group today.
